THE HOME SCHOOL RETREAT AS BEEN CANCELED. WE WERE UNABLE TO COME UP WITH THE ADDITIONAL FAMILIES. REFUNDS WILL BE GOING OUT TO THOSE WHO REGISTERED, OR THE REFUNDS MAY BE TRANSFERRED TO THE LABOR DAY WEEKEND RETREAT.

Program:
** Well, another summer has come and gone. We are happy to report that we had 22 salvations, 9 rededications, and 11 other recorded decisions. Praise the Lord!
** Here are our campers numbers: Junior Weeks 1 and 2 were down by 47 campers; Jr. High Week was down by 18 campers; Sr. High week was up by 11 campers; Family Camp Week was up by 14 campers. The rental weeks were by 101 campers, which included a third rental week this year.
** Upcoming Retreats:
Men’s Retreat – August 21 and 22
Labor Day Retreat – September 4 to 7
Ladies Retreat – September 11 and 12
Senior Saints – September 15
Scrap & Stamp II – October 9 and 10
** Next year’s theme: “Give Me Ten For The Lord” 1 Thess. 5:16-26.
** All of our speakers are in place for next year, and the schedule will be on the website in a few weeks.

Facilities:
** Everything held up this summer with no problems! EVERYONE (girls) loved the new cabins, and we received great reviews.

Finances:
** Praise – The end of July report showed we are approximately $41,000 ahead of where we were last year at that time.
** Another Praise – We budget $2,000 for the air in the new cabins for June & July. Actual cost for the those two months . . . $600.00!

Promotional:
** Work on the promotional kit is underway. Lots of good stuff is going into it.
** Brochures will be available by November.

Prayer Requests:
** Kealens
** Silvers – Charlotte is due August 25 (she’ll never make it)
** The 22 salvations this summer
** Executive Meeting this Saturday to go over the facilitator suggestions.
** Board meeting on August 21 to go over Executive committee recommendations.
** The neighbors: the judge ruled on nothing. There is another court date scheduled for September 16. Tensions are starting to run high as this will now be over a year since the situation started, and the one in the wrong is starting to do some foolish things to the easement and camp.

Greeting from a busy camp!

Here is the latest:

Program:
** We have ninety-three campers here for Junior One. For seventy of them, it’s their first time here!
** We had twenty-three ladies here for the Scrap & Stamp retreat. It was decided that there will be another one on October 9 & 10 of this year.
** Don’t forget to check out the new Website at www.manitoumi.com.

Facilities:
** We have another underground water leak. It’s actually at the same place as last year’s problem.
** We’ll be taking the horses to the forty acres to graze off the grass that is up there after the fence is completed.

Finances:
** There will be a letter going to our fellowship churches in the next few days that will explain what is going on with the camp finances. I can tell you the board is gathering more information and that any decision was postponed until the August meeting. However, there was one item that was presented and approved. It’s down in the promotion section of this MM.

Project:
** We have received to date: $106,731.00 for the cabins and $5,629.55 for the Bunk Beds. That brings the total raised to: $112,360.55. We still need $192,717,51
** We may have suspended the project, but we haven’t suspended the giving!
** The quarterly mailing will be going out this week.

Promotion:
** If you need promotional items fro your VBS (pencils, flyers, etc.) tell us, and we’ll be happy to send them.
** Now, the item that was presented and approved. . . . It’s called . . . the 365th Brigade. Don’t worry, you’re going to hear about it in the next few days. Be watching for information in the mail. I’ll tell you now, you better enlist quickly!
** Judy and I will be at Germantown Hills Baptist Church this Sunday, filling in for the evening pulpit supply.

Prayer Request:
Kealens – Still waiting word on surgery date for Judy’s finger.
Silvers – Charlotte and the baby. Girl number four due in late August.
Junior One – Mark Smith (speaker), ninety-three campers and counselors.
Finances – General and Project.
Neighbors and the easement trial, still no new date.
